The IkiJime Tool application offers a systematic approach for anglers seeking to dispatch their catch efficiently and ethically, utilizing the scientifically supported ikijime method of brain destruction. This technique is recognized for its capacity to significantly reduce fish stress and enhance flesh quality. The app grants users access to an extensive collection of high-quality images and X-ray visuals, alongside detailed information on brain anatomy and intriguing facts across more than 150 fish species favored by anglers globally.

Version 3.0.0 introduces several enhanced search functionalities designed to streamline the user experience. Users can opt to enable location services, allowing the app to automatically filter its database based on current geographic position. Alternatively, searches can be conducted via traditional regional, subregional, and water type filters or through the "Text Search" feature, which enables quick browsing of the complete www.ikijime.com database in alphabetical order. The "Taxonomic Search" provides an additional means to locate species by their scientific names, facilitating identification of both target species and their close relatives. Users can also create a personalized "Favourites" list to easily access preferred species.

Upon selecting a fish species by pressing "Go Fish," the app displays a dedicated information page containing pertinent data such as alternative names, descriptions, distribution ranges, and size metrics. A notable feature is the X-ray slide tool positioned at the top right; it overlays the fish's brain location as a white marker aligned with external landmarks, aiding precise placement for humane dispatch. Once the brain spike is correctly positioned, the fish can be humanely euthanized swiftly.

The application also includes practical features such as a "Camera" function for capturing images of catches to share with peers or for identification purposes. The "Settings" menu allows customization of default options, synchronization with the latest database updates—adding new species as they become available—and downloading PDF brochures for offline use, printing, or laminating.

Like its predecessor, the Ikijime Tool Extreme app, this version maintains functionality in remote areas without cellular or internet connectivity. Users simply download the app and perform a single synchronization process within the settings to ensure comprehensive access to all species data from www.ikijime.com at any time.

Existing users of the previous Ikijime Tool Extreme are eligible for a free upgrade to this latest version. New users will be prompted to purchase after 10 database searches.
